Yet another XKDG date selection example

From our earlier blog, we have at least proposed an automated method to generate Xuan Kong Da Gua numerals. This will make life easier for lazy blokes in this modern era.

Now we observe for 3th October 2011, we have a useable date, at least in theory. In October 2011, there are very few standard auspicious dates e.g. Combination of Ten but the Family Structure is immensely useable if you run into some queer requirements.

Assumptions
We take note the dates are generated for GMT+8 without solar time adjustment (yes, I am based in Singapore).
Other date selection systems are not considered, yet.

Using the conventional approach, we know 5pm-7pm, the You hour branch clashes with the day's Mao branch. In Mandarin, this is called 破时. For ordinary blokes, this time frame should be avoided unless you are a Master with some hidden tricks.

As the title suggest, 'Practical', suppose we need this time frame for a Geomancy application and it is difficult to propose another time, can we still use this time frame?

Yes and No.

We note that all the Xuan Kong Da Gua numerals interactions form an auspicious timing known as Family Structure. The guas are related to each another because they belong to the Sun-Jian Gua family. To be precise, the relationship is Mother-Son Family Gua Relation. Hence the clash between the hour and day branches can be negated. The key assumption is family gua promotes 'harmony'. In this case, if the house or user's birth date belongs to the Sun-Jian gua family, then this is an immensely suitable date for geomancy application or important occasions.

However there is a caveat.

If the residential sitting/facing gua or user's birth year belongs the Heng-Yi parent guas, then the utility of this date time is reduced as the theory proposed.

The caveat arises from the Xin Mao stem-branch for the year and day. Xin-Mao stem branch could either belong to Heng-Yi or Sun-Jian gua families. The month and hour stem and branch belongs to the Mother Gua of the Sun family. Hence using association, the year and day are presumed to follow Sun family and they are male child guas.

The appearance of Heng-Yi gua parent e.g. from the house's sitting/facing or user birth year will result in gender ambiguity. If the user's birth year belongs to Heng-Yi families parent gua, then the year and day guas' gender are indeterminate. Ambiguous gua gender is considered a taboo.
