Da Liu Ren heaven and general plates added to San Yuan Qi Men Dun Jia application

I have added the Liu Ren heaven and 12 generals plate to my application for reference.

Liu Ren, as in many metaphysical systems have cliques and factions.

However the Liu Ren school is more cordial, at least that's what I see so far, lesser mudslinging and flaming. 

There are two methods to plot the 12 Generals chart, frankly, it is just a simple flipping of the day and dawn nobleman.

 

 

Once I am satisfied with this feature, it will be included in the Equinox/Solstice updates.

You may ask, is this a gimmick?

No.  Given a choice, most developers will not add new features for free, I need to read tomes of archaic text to understand the nuances and the field application portion is even more tricky.  Field application is important, you can sieve out the gems from the garbage heap.

If you do date selection for a while, you will understand the rationale why Brother Keong burnt midnight candles to implement this feature rather than take a nap in the beach.

This unique application supports Zhi Run 直闰 or Chai Bu 拆补 Ju determination with a calendar range from 1900-2100.  I have painstakingly literally translate some terminologies and formations used in Qi Men Dun Jia into English text, and yes, the translation still gives me and some language purists, heartaches.

This started off as a humble Xuan Kong Da Gua DOS mode application before it went through a massive overhaul, well, I use this application extensively 8).  This is the present incarnation with the Windows UI.  It is quite a complex San Yuan date selection program because it integrates Xuan Kong Da Gua with 64 Hexagrams Qi Men Dun Jia and 9 Palace Qi Men Dun Jia.

Inter-palatial relationships among Zi Wei's aspects

For Si Hua Flying Stars Zi Wei beginners, inter-palatial or palace rotation is indeed a tricky item.

Hence for beginners, I have added a palace rotation feature to assist them to visualize the concept of palace rotation, translation, transformation or whichever term that is in the favour of the month.

First we set the Spouse or Shen palace to be the point of reference and select 'Set this palace to be Taiji Self'

In the example below, Natal spouse aspect is the reference point for the rotation.  Hence we can easily infer from the screen capture below that aspect wealth is the spouse of spouse.

San Yuan Qi Men's Xuan Kong software's Da Gua 生入克入 applets

I was looking through my older Xuan Kong Da Gua application print outs. 

I saw that the old 生入克入 function that was removed in the old versions but re-introduced for practical completeness.

This is an example of Shen Ru Ke Ru or 生入克入, literally 'produce/birth and dominate inward'.  It was popularized by the late Master Chen Peisheng in the 1990s, so this 'open secret' is actually 20 years old. 

It is a clever variation of matching a house sitting and individual with the date time structure.  However, there are key subtle differences and caveats in the actual applications of this formation.

In the example, we can see the Xuan Kong gua qi confirms to the Shen Ru Ke Ru/生入克入 formation and it has the same affinity with the house sitting and user's birth year tai sui gua. 

As this is not a leisure magazine application, a forward lookup list for the next 365 days from the selected date time is provided for further analysis.

Gentle reminder that San Yuan Qi Men Dun Jia app supports both Zhi Run/直闰 and Chai Bu 拆补

Sometimes I do get a query, 'gee your Qi Men plate is wrong based on my mainland's software. 

This is mainly due to the difference in Ju implementation.  Different Ju number will give you a different plate for certain times.

As a gentle reminder, the 64 Hexagrams Qi Men Dun Jia application supports both Zhi Run/直闰 (Imperial Qi Men) and Chai Bu 拆补.  Generally speaking, the mainland Qi Men Dun Jia applications supports Chai Bu 拆补

To raise the ante, this application supports the Rotating and Flying Palace variants.

 

 



Many (not all) or generally PRC Qi Men Dun Jia masters are fans of the late Master Zhang Zhichun.  Naturally his fans or supporters will adopt Chai Bu and disregard the 'Zhi Lun' 直闰 method.

The majority of Taiwanese, Hong Kong and some Singapore die hard blokes, usually adopt the older Zhi Lun method to determine the Ju.

In the past, I used to state my preference and inevitably it ends up with a laborious 30-60 minutes explanation of the Zhi Lun method ....because I read in dismay when over zealous Chai Bu fans thrashed Zhi Lun using a few paragraphs from Master Zhang's book.  However they are usually at a loss if you ask them to provide an explanation or define Zhi Lun. 

Please try to understand the concepts behind Zhi Lun before thrashing it, you will never know when it will come back to help you or haunt you.

Now much older and wanting only to devote more energies to improve the various apps, I will not state my support for either camps, but the 64 Hexagrams Qi Men Dun Jia defaults to Zhi Lun method.

I will advise that discretion is exercised when determining the correct Ju method for certain applications.

Major update for the San Yuan Qi Men Dun Jia or 64 Hexagrams Qi Men Dun Jia date selection application/software has been released.

This unique application integrates 3 interesting formulations.

1. Xuan Kong Da Gua date selection
2. 64 Hexagrams Early Heaven Qi Men Dun Jia
3. 9 Palaces Qi Men Dun Jia

I have feedback that this is a rather complex application and there are few blokes who understand the 3 systems. 

But on the flip side, it has some time saving features. 

If you are unable to use a certain date time using Da Gua or early heaven Qi Men, there is always the trusty 9 Palace Qi Men Dun Jia. 

Interesting Xuan Kong Da Gua formations are listed.  The 9 Palace Qi Men Dun Jia hourly charts have a palace ranking option to filter a long list of useful formations.

Some users are bemused to find the support for both 'Imperial' aka intercalary '直闰' and non intercalary '拆补' methods.  Most existing Qi Men applications support the latter '拆补' as the programming is much simpler and the theoretical explanation is more straightforward e.g. under 15 minutes.  In fact both Flying Palace and Rotating Palace methods are supported too!

The unfriendly clashes of stems

I saw this accident on the road, it looks pretty bad but fortunately there are no fatal casualties.

"What will date selection say?"

So I fire up my trusty Qi Men Dun Jia application, once again, it is our naughty 五不遇 or hour stem dominate the day stem.

If you are a Bazi fan or date selection bloke, you will have more things to say about the heaven stems but that will be a topic for another day.

五不遇 is one of the top bogeyman in Qi Men Dun Jia, together with '天网四张', if you read the older text, the ancients have plenty to say about them.  The importance attached to them is usually one section (2-3 paragraphs), going by the concise nature of Chinese text, one section is significant.  You can read my other sections that talks about 天网四张.

Most modern Qi Men authors downplay the significance of this formation, but I think otherwise, in date selection, the hour and day stem clashes do appear as a footnote, it cannot be mentioned as a joke or trivial event, hence in date selection, attention to such details is important, especially for sensitive or critical events.

After many years, I begin to notice a strange pattern,  many accidents or unfortunately events will pick the bad hours and if your birth chart has a strange affinity with the date time, you certainly want to pay more attention to your environment.
