9 Palace + San Yuan Qi Men Dun Jia + Xuan Kong Da Gua

After a long break, its time for more work.

There is enough space on the homebrew San Yuan Qi Men Dun Jia (aka 三元奇门遁甲) and I have finally caved in to the temptation of plotting the standard 9 Palaces Qi Men Dun Jia into the inner rings.

In addition, the San Yuan Qi Men's 8 deities 八神 has been plotted as an example. Now I just need some space for the similar San Yuan Qi Men's Nine Stars plate.  A larger screen laptop will be great.  Click on the image below for better view.

Finally I was fed up with all the clicking to select and analyse Qi Men formations, so I think it will be a good idea for the computer to do the dirty work...make it pore through weeks, months or even years dates to filter specific Qi Men formations. 

Surprising when I look at the existing known Qi Men software on the market, most of them are limited to generating charts till 2017 or 2023.  Well, you have to hand it to their developers for the patience to key in all the 24 Jie Qi change over time for the next 10 years and contributing to the data bloat for their apps. 

Hack, it only one function and its less than a page......presto! A utility function that display all the Ghost Dun/鬼遁 formations for a specific time frame, say 100 years. 

There is a simple rating in the comments textbox to seek out the best Ghost Dun/鬼遁 of them all.

This certainly beats going through entire charts and tables to seek out the formation that you need.  You may need to click on the image below for better view.

Two nice blocks of good date time in 31th July 2012

The last 4 hours of July 2012 are interesting, try to make full use of them......

Some applications require rain. 

Rain in June, hmmh, not so easy if you want it at a specific place. 

2 dates were proposed , 27th June 2012 and 30th June 2012.  Well our client got his rain after all.......date selection is indeed a powerful tool.  But 27th June 2012 is a superior date compared to 30th June 2012 in this case.

Sidetrack - Modern Lu Ban dimensions

I was searching a Lu Ban ruler and with a stroke of good luck, some bloke has already put it on a measuring tape.

Not bad, capitalism does help people solve some problems.  On the measuring tape, one gets the Lu Ban dimensions for Yang and Yin applications.

Ren goes to south west or north east?

Based on Yahoo's news feed, Choo is 34 this year.  Assuming he was born after Li Chun, he is probably has a Wu Wu year pillar.

Png's age is 50, probably 1962, Ren Yin tiger if he is born after Li Chun.

PM Lee made his comment at 4:22PM, Singapore's solar Time is still within 3PM-5PM block.  I enclosed an attachment of the Qi Men chart.  

Worker's Party... staging a victory despite committing a 'sin' by selecting Yaw.

The standard 9 Palace Qi Men Dun Jia chart flies Ren (Png's Ren Yin) to the southwest  palace. 

However there is a school of thought that flies Ren to Northeast palace based on the Yang Dun.  In that case, Ren lands up in the Northeast palace and that makes it superior to Choo's position in the north palace.  

Whereas if Png's Ren birth year stem, following the traditional school, flies Ren to southwest all the time, then it require more analysis or experience to determine whether the in season Death door is able to defeat Choo's out of season Rest door.

I think this is a good case study but we probably need more examples to see whether it is better to fly Ren to southwest at all times or otherwise depending on the solstice setting.

Qi Men Dun Jia for a by-election case

Around 9th May 2012 noon time, Singapore's PM announced his party's candidate to contest the Hougang by elections.

The by-election was triggered when incumbent Worker's Party (WP) Yaw SL, ex-Hougang Member of Parliament skipped town over his affair with another party member.

Imagine if Admiral Haratio Nelson was to be forced out over his scandalous affair, the English will be taking French lessons.

Let us see what the 9 Palace Qi Men Dun Jia has to say about the contest.  It is considered a lopsided contest because Hougang has  been the Worker's Party stronghold for 20 years.  Despite controlling 80% of the parliamentary seats, Lee's ruling party is unable to wrestle control of Hougang.

It appears WP's Png has an advantage based on his year of birth (google his age).  Choo may need to try harder yet again.

This date may look horrible with all the clashes among the branches but according to the Complementary Concept, it is highly useable for certain geomancy applications.

The anglophile (corny) statement for 'Complementary Concept' is 'one man's poison is another man's meat.

In this case, Ding Mao is able to marshal order amid the infighting among the date time pillars, so as the theory of Xuan Kong Da Gua goes.

Therefore Mr Ding Mao will be pleased with this date time.  Of course Mr Ding Mao need not be a person, he may be a door, water point, mountain or dress himself as a 'Dragon'.

It is possible to use similar date selection to refine the date time.

The main counter against blending different systems is the confusion and conflicts arising from different sub-systems.

The key is to adapt to the given constraints and select the best date time, considering the merits and demerits.

And yes, taking potshots at 'DIYer' is also a good marketing tactic.  This is called FUD aka Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt.

If the saying 'ain't such time as perfect' holds, the converse is could be true...'ain't such a time that is that so darn bad'.
