Yet another Bazi app for the masses.....

The yet to be completed Bazi app is designed to solve 4 major problems and two of them are the combinations/clashes domains.  One of them is to allow beginners to key in the dates and presto, determine the day master strength, interactions within the branches and life domains, annual and 10 year luck pillar happenings.

For example, we know combinations precede clashes, penalties, harms, break within a natal chart.  Ideally a Bazi app should show all the combinations, clashes etc, but a better approach will be to show the effect of combinations on all interactions.  This is often the missing dimension when determine the day master type. 

 

Hence the defense or idea that 3 pillars are enough or just as good as 4 pillars may break down when combinations play an important role.  It is only good enough when the hour pillar is missing or the customer wants to be difficult and withhold the hour pillar.

In this yet to be completed app, using present date time, we can see branches combine and form water frame, hence the wood day master is boosted by the water.  I have drawn the lines to help beginners visual how the branches interact with each another.

Therefore the day master is rather strong and favourable elements may be fire and earth.

The next update will expand the combinations/clashes with the annual and ten year luck pillar.  This is the main trick used by experienced old Bazi hands to deduce the happenings within the present/past luck pillars.

Zi Wei Si Hua software

I had some positive feedback regarding the Hua Ji/Lu flight in the production Zi Wei Si Hua Flying Stars application. 

 

The multi-level Ji/Lu flight is currently the top unique feature for the app, an interesting time saving feature.

Zi Wei Software - Lunar Calendar Experimental

It is very easy to calculate the lunar calendar given a solar calendar.  The converse may not be true. 

Most Zi Wei applications in the market side step the problem by providing combo boxes, 99% got the feature wrong because they neglect to take into consideration the following

1)Intercalary month aka leap month
2)Days in a month, usually 29 or 30 but never 31.

This is my preferred method, well it is still experimental and may not make it for the 2013 Autumn Feature Pack!

In this case, you type in the solar year, month and day and the calendar will show you the entire lunar days for the month.

To denote the month, I used the Chinese character 七月 which is perhaps not a good idea because English readers will be confused.  If Roman numerals are used e.g. VII, the Chinese readers will be confused.

Ah, perhaps the combo box idea is not bad, but I need to think of a good way to show the intercalary month and yes, take care the 31 days bug.

This is the classic 'catch 22' case.  It is just as bad as democracy, favouring one locale alienates another locale.

By the way, since we are at the topic of date selection, you will notice the gender information render a 'potent limitation' for the Zi Wei system.  This implies at least in general date selection, Zi Wei system may be placed at a disadvantage because you cannot ignore the gender information.

In Mathematics or Engineering, similar situations do occur.  You will realize that it is more about using the correct tool or method to solve a problem off hand.

 

Zi Wei Si Hua software

The Zi Wei Si Hua Flying Stars software may make life simpler for users to analyse charts but to realize its full power, you may wish to consider formal courses offered by seasoned Si Hua Flying Stars masters. 

The lines may not confuse you but wait till you transpose the palaces and a simple Ji flight will be complicated by 2 layers of information.

Zi Wei software in action with the palaces transposed.  Note the various palace Zi Hua, birth year Zi Hua, and interactions between each palace.  While the Si Hua Flying Stars only utilize 16 stars, the dynamic aspects of their approach make this system rather tricky and subtle.

It is trivial to check the Si Hua/Lu star for a stem.

Perhaps sometimes you like to delve into 2 levels Hua Lu or Hua Ji.  With this software, nth levels are possible.
 

You could do a Hua Lu followed by a Hua Ji manually....hence by popular demand and this is a relatively simple addition, let the computer do it and save you more time for analysis, only around 10 lines of code.  5 lines to take care of the color scheme, green for Lu, red for Ji.

 

The Taiwanese certainly have a nice name for it, 禄转忌.

Wait till you hear of the nice sounding '三宫交禄' aka Hua Lu's interaction in 3 palaces.

Yes, there is also a 四宫交禄.  Hua Lu's interaction in 4 palaces.
Imaginative names huh?

But this idea is not new.  It is used in Flying Palace Qi Men Dun Jia and can be found in the date/time determination concept for any Qi Men variants.
